West Palm Beach, Fla. (February 19, 2026) โ€” Palm Beach Countyโ€™s healthcare sector is preparing for a significant expansion following the announcement of a planned redevelopment of the Good Samaritan Medical Center campus in downtown West Palm Beach.

Expanding Advanced Medical Services in West Palm Beach

The proposed redevelopment includes a comprehensive modernization of Good Samaritan Medical Center, with increased capacity and expanded specialty programs to serve the regionโ€™s growing population.

Planned clinical enhancements include advanced cardiovascular services, oncology programs, neurosciences, and surgical capabilities. These additions are expected to strengthen access to high-level specialty care in West Palm Beach and reduce the need for residents to seek treatment outside the region.

Palm Beach Health Network โ€” the largest healthcare system in Palm Beach County โ€” will integrate the enhanced medical center within its broader hospital network. As part of Tenet Healthcare, the system benefits from national operational resources and clinical expertise that support continued growth and innovation.

Developers have also indicated plans to pursue collaborations with nationally recognized medical institutions, further elevating Palm Beach Countyโ€™s healthcare profile.

Creating a Health-Focused Urban District

Beyond hospital upgrades, the initiative envisions a more comprehensive healthcare and wellness environment in downtown West Palm Beach. Preliminary plans include a dedicated longevity and wellness component, workforce and market-rate housing, and community-oriented amenities within a walkable setting.

By integrating medical services with residential and wellness-focused design, the project reflects a broader shift toward preventive care and patient-centered environments within urban cores.

Supporting Research, Workforce Development, and Access to Care

A nonprofit foundation is expected to be established to advance clinical programming, medical research, physician education, and patient access initiatives. The foundation will also support efforts to recruit and retain top healthcare professionals in Palm Beach County.

The redevelopment and facility upgrades will be privately funded by Palm Beach Health Network and Easton Street Capital.

Strengthening Palm Beach Countyโ€™s Life Sciences and Healthcare Economy

Healthcare remains one of the largest and fastest-growing industries in Palm Beach County, driven by population growth, demographic trends, and increasing demand for specialty care. Investments in modern medical infrastructure play a critical role in supporting job creation, attracting talent, and expanding the regionโ€™s life sciences ecosystem.

The Business Development Board of Palm Beach County recognizes this planned expansion as a strategic investment that enhances the countyโ€™s competitiveness as a destination for healthcare innovation, advanced clinical services, and long-term economic growth. Already home to more than 5,000 healthcare facilities and 625 life science firms that collectively employ 100,000 people in the Palm Beaches, this announcement will provide even more high quality opportunities for the local economy as well as access to world-class healthcare.
