More than 100 jobs will be created or retained as three private companies expand into West Palm Beach, according to an economic development organization.
The Business Development Board of Palm Beach County announced that 50 new jobs will be formed as a private school and a Texas-based general contractor will be opening new facilities in West Palm Beach. In addition, a scaffolding manufacturer will make additional hires as it invests $4.1 million expanding the size of its headquarters.
Set to open its first school in South Florida is Maryland-based Celebree School, an early education company with dozens of corporate owned and franchised facilities throughout the U.S. (including one in Tampa). Celebree will open an 8,800-square-foot school at 5800 S. Dixie Highway in August 2025 where 30 people will be employed, said BDB of Palm Beach County CEO Kelly Smallridge.
The future Celebree School will be opened “in partnership” with Sympatico Real Estate, which owns the property, BDB added. An affiliate of Sympatico, headed by Carlos and Thomas Morrison, paid $1.04 million for the 8,000-square-foot parcel in 2006.
BAC Fabrication and BAC Consulting, both based in Irving, Texas, and owned by general contractor Craig Baker, just opened a temporary 1,500-square-foot space as it searches for a new facility in West Palm Beach, Smallridge said. The future home for both BACs will be between 5,000 and 10,000 square feet in size and 20 people will be employed.
BAC Consulting handles construction management while BAC Fabrications supplies building materials. Its temporary home at 1711 Latham Road is in a light industrial warehouse condo. The space was acquired by Latham Road LLC for $1.65 million in 2020.
And, Bee Access will more than double the size of its facility at 2145 Indian Road as it expands from its current 12,500-square-foot operation to more than 33,000 square feet. The expansion will support a future suspended scaffold training center, a product show room, a hoist training and support center, advanced manufacturing, and more warehousing, Smallridge said.
Bee Access’ will mean 65 existing positions will be retained and 20 new jobs will be added, according to BDB. The expansion is taking place on properties owned by Bee Access, Smallridge added.
A public-private partnership, the BDB seeks to attract and retain industries in Palm Beach County. The organization assisted all three companies with permitting, research, and connections with CarrerSource Palm Beach County and other members of the community, Smallridge said.
Palm Beach County has been growing population and economically since the pandemic due to the domestic influx of people, commerce and cash. Many of these new arrivals are attracted to Palm Beach County’s weather, open space, and business-friendly atmosphere.
