Hoerbiger broke ground on a manufacturing facility west of Delray Beach that will support 400 jobs.
Located at 9888 West Atlantic Ave., the facility will total 200,000 square feet when it opens in 2026. That will consist of 155,000 square feet of manufacturing and 45,000 square feet of offices.
Hoerbiger will manufacture compressor components for the natural gas, hydrogen and clean energy sectors in the site. That operation will be relocated from Pompano Beach.
“Hoerbiger first opened in the Americas more than 60 years ago, and we’re pleased to build on that commitment to our North and Latin American customers with this groundbreaking ceremony for our new Florida campus facility in Delray Beach,” said Wolfgang Sautter, CEO of the compression division at Hoerbiger. “The Americas have long been among our most important markets, and our new, expanded location will continue to support our regional customers while also providing for the long-term growth of our business in this region.”
The Business Development Board of Palm Beach County, CareerSource Palm Beach County and Florida Power & Light worked with Hoerbiger on the project.
Coconut Creek-based Butters Construction & Development is the developer of the 23.2-acre business park. The Hoerbiger facility will be the second phase of the business park, as the first warehouses broke ground in 2024.
Hoerbiger recently acquired the land for its project from West Atlantic Business Plaza, an affiliate of Butters, for $20 million.
Zug, Switzerland-based Hoerbiger operates in 40 countries and has 6,477 employees worldwide.
