PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — Dec. 29, 2025 — The Business Development Board of Palm Beach County is pleased to share that advanced nuclear energy company AMPERA has selected Palm Beach Gardens for its global headquarters.
AMPERA recently announced its emergence from stealth mode to unveil one of the safest and most advanced microreactor systems ever developed — purpose-built and fueled by thorium to power sectors including defense, data centers and industrial applications with compact, emission-free, autonomous energy.
AMPERA projects a multi-billion-dollar investment in Palm Beach County over the next five years as it scales to commercial deployment. The company expects to add 100 positions by the end of 2026 and approximately 2,500 positions by the time it begins full-scale production at an additional location in Palm Beach County within the next five years. High-skilled labor will include nuclear engineers, physicists and safety experts, computer scientists, materials analysts and financial professionals.
“Palm Beach County will serve as our global headquarters for advanced research and development, engineering and product creation,” said AMPERA CEO and Founder Brian Matthews. “There is strong demand worldwide for ultra-safe, nuclear reactors that are easily transportable and able to deliver clean, consistent power for decades without having to be refueled.”
The company will operate from two buildings totaling nearly 100,000 square feet in the Gardens Innovation Center at PGA National Commerce Park. AMPERA chose Palm Beach Gardens due to its proximity to a strong engineering talent pool and a technology and financial sector that is rapidly expanding. The proximity to several airports and the overall quality of life in the area also contributed to the decision.
“This is another significant addition to Palm Beach County strengthening its position globally to be a leading high-tech innovation hub,” said Business Development Board of Palm Beach County President and CEO Kelly Smallridge.
AMPERA’s worldwide headquarters will be based at 358 Hiatt Drive, suite 104 in Palm Beach Gardens. The Business Development Board assisted AMPERA with permitting through the City of Palm Beach Gardens, and the company was represented by Michael Falk of Colliers.
