Membership Overview

How we are funded

The Business Development Board's economic development programs and services are partially funded through a contract with the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners. Matching funds are raised from private industry through membership dues and revenues from special events, programs and publications. The public/private partnership is recognized as one of the most successful in the state. The BDB operates on a fiscal year of October 1- September 30.

On the most basic level, everyone benefits from a strong local economy. Your support of the BDB enables us to accomplish our mission of attracting and retaining jobs and businesses in Palm Beach County and will come back to you in the form of better infrastructure and higher quality of life.

Some specific membership benefits include:

CORPORATE AWARENESS: Members enjoy direct connections with other top business leaders, across a variety of industries, who share a common interest in the future of this county. The BDB provides opportunities for direct business opportunities; promotional value and organizational visibility and personal networking opportunities.

REGULAR MEETINGS AND EVENTS:  The BDB brings together members for meetings and events on a monthly basis. We have Quarterly stakeholder events in specific industries such as BioScience and Our Quarterly Lunches are attended by more than 400 leading business, government and community leaders. Our Upper Level events attract over 100 top level executives.

RESEARCH & PUBLICATIONS:  Members have preferred access to the economic research department for county statistics, demographics, industry trends and more. BDB publications and Newsletters, such as Profile Magazine, Monthly E-Newsletter and our Quarterly Prospector are delivered to members at no cost.
